From MSgt. Steven R Salander 03/10/04
Sir,
My name is MSgt. Steve Salander. I am the Operations
Superintendent
for the 169th Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS) in Peoria IL.
SSG.
Jacob L. Frazier was a member of my unit. We are an Air National
Guard unit
that specializes in Tactical Air Control. You may know us by such
acronyms
as TACP, GFAC, ETAC, ALO, BALO, FAC, TAC, etc. Jake was killed in
Operation
Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was the only Air Force member
on a U.S.
Special Forces team that was ambushed north of the town of Gereshk in
the
Helmund Province in Afghanistan. He was a 24 year old kid who
loved his job
and the military, but most of all, he was a great friend and patriot.
He
received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor posthumously.
He is
survivied by his mother and father and four siblings, two sisters and
twin
brothers. Thanks for your time.
