Lance Cpl. Ronald D. Freeman, 25, of Plant City, Fla., died April 28 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Doug is survived by his wife, Katie Freeman of Lake City, FL; a daughter, Katelyn of Lake City, FL; a son, William Douglas of Lake City, FL; father, Brian Freeman of Tampa, FL; father and mother-in-law, MSgt William Clement, USMC Ret. and Katherine of Lake City, FL; brother, Aaron Freeman; sisters; Melissa Freeman and Jessica Freeman, all of Plant City, FL; his grandmothers: Yvonne Freeman of Temple Terrace, FL and Betty Zachman of Shelbyville, TN and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Terra, and both of his grandfathers. | ||||||||
