 Served 2 tours in Iraq. His unit was training at the National Training Center in California prior to deployment to Afghanistan when the Stryker vehicle he was in was involved in a roll-over accident.

SFC Huntley was presented the following awards: Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award). He was also authorized to wear the Iraq Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal
