| Fort Bragg paratrooper killed in Afghanistan Posted July 20, 2012 FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A paratrooper with Fort Bragg's 82nd Airborne Division was killed in action Tuesday in Afghanistan, the U.S. Army said Friday. Spc. Krystal M. Fitts, 26, of Houston, died when her combat outpost came under enemy fire in the Zharay district of Kandahar Province. She was a member of the Female Engagement Team assigned to Echo Company, 782nd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team and further attached to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
