In Memory of
Cpl Robert E Sonnenburg III
February 17, 1987 - February 21, 2013
"All endings are beginnings; we just don't know it at the time…"

CPL Robert E. "Bobby" Sonnenburg III left us too soon to be with his Lord after a training exercise accident at Ft Irwin, CA. He was loved by many and always had something to give to those around him. His smile, thoughtfulness and acts of kindness were infectious.

"He was an exceptional soldier, son, friend and young man."

Bobby graduated from Lathrop High School in Fairbanks, Alaska and proudly followed in his mother and grandfather's footsteps to join the military. He served in the Army and was a Trooper in 5-4 Cavalry Comanche Troop at Ft. Riley, Kansas. He proved to be wise beyond his years with his ability to give insightful advice and have deep conversations.

"Bobby was a friend to all and lived life to the fullest."

His generosity and helpfulness were present even when he didn't have much. His friendship and giving nature were shared with many who knew him in friendship and in passing. In his free time he would skateboard, snowboard or go shooting, but most of all he loved to sing Karaoke (Epiphany by Staind was his opener) or serenade friends and family where ever they might be.

He is now watching over his mother, Shauna D. Emig of Salem; father, Robert E. Sonnenburg of Roseburg; Brothers, Forrest Z. Sonnenburg of Fairbanks, AK, and Sterling J. Sonnenburg of Eugene, OR; and many other friends and family who will miss his singing, laughter and smiles.

"I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have passed from death into life." John 5:24
