Fort Hood soldier found dead in vehicle

Fort Hood officials released Wednesday the name of a soldier who was found unresponsive in a vehicle at a Killeen business Saturday. The incident is under investigation.
Sgt. Sean Phillip Christiansen, 27, of Tigard, Ore., entered active-duty service in May 2008 as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He joined the 8th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, in September.
Christiansen deployed to Iraq from December 2009 to December 2010.
Christiansen’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Driver and Mechanic Badge.
