Hope Zimmerman
Posted 4 days ago

Williston lost a beautiful soul when Hope Zimmerman departed this earth following a car accident early Thursday morning. Those who were lucky enough to know and love Hope will never forget her ready smile, her crazy sense of humor and her never-ending playfulness. Hope brought a smile to so many people and has family and friends far and near who will miss her deeply. The sun began shining when Hope entered a room. She was the life of the party and lived life to the fullest every day.

I have known Hope for only a short time and considered her an irreplaceable part of our restaurant family. Beloved by co-workers and customers alike, Hope’s many talents and unflagging enthusiasm were an integral part of two restaurant openings.

She ran with the ball and through her outgoing and happy nature, impacted a wide swath of Williston.

Words alone don’t do justice to Hope, but I hope this picture will spark a memory in family and friends and give people who hadn’t met Hope a little insight into this fine young woman. It was a privilege to be Hope’s friend and co-worker and she will be loved and missed every day by her numerous friends and family members.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday in Springfield, Ore. Major Family Funeral Home will be caring for her.

Goodbye, Hope, until we meet again.

You will always be in our hearts.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A Springfield family is mourning the loss of their daughter, an active-duty member of the U.S. Navy.
The funeral was held Wednesday for Petty Officer Hope Zimmerman who was killed in a car crash in February.
The Patriot Guard Riders were there Wednesday standing outside the funeral home, holding flags. The group wants to honor fallen military heroes and first responders.
“It breaks my heart every time. They’re putting their lives on the line. She was not KIA thankfully, but she was still serving our country and it hurts when we lose one. It hurts when we lose every one of them. I hope they all come home soon,” said Chris Keller, Patriot Guard Riders.
Keller says the Patriot Guard Riders only show up to funerals if invited by the immediate family out of respect for the fallen.
