Killed by an improvised explosive device attack on an Air Force convoy about 100 miles south of Baghdad, Iraq.

Airman 1st class Eric M. Barnes was an Eagle Scout with BSA Troop 397 in
Lorain Ohio. He graduated from Lorain Admiral King High School in 2004,
where he played baseball, football and played in the marching band. He also
bowled a 300 at the age of 18. He had already served one tour and
volunteered for a second tour because he felt he was not doing enough to
earn his rank.
