Honorably He Stood

For Jeff

It was a Soldiers time to fight.
He served morning until night.
Keeping helicopters up in flight.
The work he done was good.
He did everything he should.
As for our country, honorably he stood.
He’s coming home today.
He’s coming home to stay.
And on our hero’s chest, a flag will lay.
We missed him while at war.
Now home, we’ll miss him more.
But we’ll remember what his sacrifice was for.
Our flags are at half mast.
A great man has just passed.
This soldier here has finished with his task.
He’s coming home today.
He’s coming home to stay.
And on our hero’s chest, a flag will lay.
