| From Vicki-Lynn 01/02/06:
I just wanted to thank you for setting up this page. It is incredible! I have many dear friends and family in all branches of the military and I personally do not know anyone killed in Iraq, however, I did attend the funeral of Oliver J. Brown. I did not know him, or his family, but he grew up two blocks from where I live. He is the first to be killed from Bradford Co. Pa and as our local newspaper put it, "it brought the war to our doorstep." And now, it has put a face on it...the face of a 19 yr old kid who left high school early to go serve and who will be 19 forever. It was said over and over that Oliver believed that" Freedom is not Free" With over 500 in attendance, his funeral was the most incredible thing I have ever seen...and at the same time, I hope I never see anything like it again. So, I want to thank you again for keeping their memory alive and making the public aware that we need to keep the support and prayers going. God Bless, Vicki-Lynn |
