Gov. Schwarzenegger Issues Statement on Death of Crescent City Soldier: Capt. Bruno G. Desolenni
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today released the following statement regarding the death of Capt. Bruno G. Desolenni of Crescent City, CA:
"Captain Bruno Desolenni is a shining example of the determination and courage that makes our nation strong. He was a brave American and his commitment to defending democracy and freedom will never be forgotten. Maria and I join all Californians in sending our deepest condolences to Bruno's family and friends as they mourn this tremendous loss."
Desolenni, 32, died Sept. 20, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the Joint Forces Headquarters, Element Training Team, Oregon Army National Guard.
In honor of Capt. Desolenni, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
