From Peggie Writtenhouse 12/29/05:

Thank you so much, great tribute to all those who have died for our freedom. My father Col.James M. Hayes was in for 38 years, Marines, WWII, Korea and Vietnam . Died at the age 66 from cancer. He would have been so very proud of his youngest son. Fred was so much like him, they both put their soldiers before anything and were both great leaders. They would never ask of their men anything they weren't willing to do right by their side!
Thank you, Peggie
