| Hughes died on November 7, 2010, of injuries suffered when he was struck by a power boat operated by British Forces Cyprus while swimming off the coast of Cyprus on November 5. He was redeploying from operations in Afghanistan and his unit was in Cyrus for decompression activities before returning home to the United Kingdom. | ||||||
