and served on the Oil rigs and shore in Iraq. He was killed on his motorcycle while homeported in San Diego, CA. 

Was Baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom, Mn. 
Worked hard and became an Eagle Scout
Graduated from Chisago Lks High School
Went right into the Navy from High School
Had planned to reenlist and got Navy Diver School

Obituary
Kaske, Michael Carl US Navy. Age 21 of Chisago City, died from injuries in a motorcycle accident Sunday, October 5, 2008 outside of San Diego, CA. Preceded in death by grandfathers, Herman Kaske and Manford Bakke; great-grand- parent's Donald & Louella Nagy. Survived by parents, Roger & Cindy Kaske; sisters, Elizabeth & Amy (Patrick McElroy) and nephew, Brody; grandmothers, Ruby Kaske & Donna Bakke; and many other relatives and friends including Rob, Kim and Macey. Funeral Service 2:00 pm Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom. Visitation 4-8 pm Friday at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom & one hour prior to service at church. Interment Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom. Michael Carl Kaske, age 21, died from injuries in a motorcycle accident Sunday, October 5, 2008 outside of San Diego, California.

He was born October 31, 1986 in St. Croix Falls, Wisc. Michael grew up in Chisago City, graduated in 2005 from Chisago Lakes Area High School. During school he was active in Boy Scouts, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

After graduating Michael enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was assigned to the USS Higgins DDG 76 (a guided missile destroyer) home ported in San Diego. Michael achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class E-5. His primary duties were as an Engineman. In addition he was part of a 15-man VBSS (Visitor Boarding Search and Seizure) team that does SWAT-type Search and Seizure on land and other foreign ships. His tours of duty have had him deployed to Iraq, the Persian Gulf and the Western Pacific.

Michael's hobbies included: hunting, fishing, golfing, cars, motorcycles, bodysurfing and spending time with family and friends.

Preceded in death by grandfathers Manford Bakke and Herman Kaske, great grandparents, Donald and LouElla Nagy.

He is survived by his parents Roger and Cindy Kaska of Chisago City; sisters Elizabeth, Amy (Patrick McElroy) and nephew Brody; Grandmothers Ruby Kaske, Donna Bakke and many other relatives and friends including Rob, Kim and Macey.
