 Killed while supporting combat operations in Farah Province, Afghanistan.

There is a picture of Dawid Pietrek in the Chicago Tribune for June 18th, 2008. I knew David because he took care of my father, Brian Kelly, as a live-in caretaker for just about a month until my father passed away. He was an incredibly mature young man who was very excited when he passed the test for the Marines. He was a typical young man, drove a mustang which was his prized possession, and was looking forward to eventually becoming a police officer. I was shocked and saddened when I saw his obituary as he is the only person I know personally that was the currently in the service. He is a hero to me and I will never forget him.
