Gibbons Statement on the Death of Nevadan, Private First Class Thomas C. Siekert 12/8/2005 WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Congressman Jim Gibbons (R-Nev.) today released the following statement regarding the death of Army Private First Class Thomas C. Siekert, 20, of Lovelock, Nevada. Private Siekert died on December 6, 2005 in Bayji, Iraq and was assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. �I offer my sincere condolences to the friends and family of Private First Class Thomas C. Siekert. Though we mourn the loss of a patriot, we celebrate his life as a hero and the legacy he leaves behind. There is no greater honor than service to one�s country, and as we continue to fight the war on terror we remember Private Siekert and all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we my live in a safer world.� |
