During his junior year of high school, Joseph P. Mayek decided he wanted to be in the Army. Mayek of Rock Springs, Wyo., and stationed at Fort Benning, died April 14 after being struck by an armor-piercing round from an infantry fighting vehicle. Survivors include his mother, Margaret McFadden, and stepfather, David McFadden. |
