Died at Val de Grace military hospital in Paris, France, of wounds sustained on January 20, 2012, when an Afghan National Army soldier opened fire on French soldiers during physical training at Forward Operating Base Gwan in southern Kapisa province, Afghanistan. Four other French soldiers also were killed in the attack.
