As told to me by Sgt. Norton's parents The day that Justin's plane landed on US soil their back door opened and shut from the garage which they thought it was Dean the younger son but it wasn't. Nobody came in. Everyone in the house then knew who it was! Justin was letting everyone know he made it home safely.. Then: On July 7th Sandy Norton was driving on Military road in Rainier and she spotted something big running full speed thru a field. She slowed down cause this animal wasn't going to stop. This animal jumped the fence and stopped in the middle of military road. As she stopped this huge male Buffalo was starring right at her. It stood there long enough for her to take a picture. It then crossed the road, jumped another fence then stopped and stomped its front foot on the ground a couple times. Sandy drove off not thinking anything of it. It is strange because it was the only buffalo and they typically run in herds. A few weeks later Jeff was looking at buffalo pin he had on his motorcycle vest. He then thought of the buffalo that Sandy seen. That is when he realized that Justin was a buffalo soldier. For the next week or so her & Jeff drove that road looking for this lone buffalo never to be seen again. The property owner has not had buffalo on his property in over two years. Isn't this just amazing. |
