 Killed while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq.

Christopher was from Mount Dora, Florida. He talked about joining the military since the age of 10 years, and did so after graduating from Mount Dora High School in June 2004. He was a Ground Communications Organizations Technician, assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. He left for Iraq in April of 2007, just after getting engaged to his high-school sweetheart. His personal awards include the National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Christopher was very proud to be a Marine and of the Marines Corps. He was a free-spirited, happy-go-lucky guy, known for his quick wit and teasing personality. He used to run bare-foot down dirt roads and wear his boots without socks, and some called him fearless. He is survived by his mother, Donna Hunsicker of Mount Dora; step-father, Robert I. Hunsicker of Mount Dora; five brothers: Jeffery Poole of Mount Dora; Scott Hunsicker of Tavares; Joshua Ebaugh of Mount Dora; Michael Hunsicker of Tavares; Dustin Hunsicker of Mount Dora; two sisters, Heidi Ethridge of Sebastian and Bobbijoe Hunsicker of Sanford; maternal grandmother, Patsy Kirkman of Mount Dora; paternal grandmother, Eileen Hunsicker of Mount Dora; uncle, Timothy Kirkman of Mount Dora. He was predeceased by his father, Christopher Lee Poole. Christopher was awarded the Purple Heart.
